RFQ Details

Dear Sirs:

We are currently involved with a large scale low income housing development in the Dominican Republic. Total buildout will be 6, 000 units or more. Due to the treacherous weather conditions (hurricanes, moisture, etc), we are considering either vinyl or fiberglass windows and doors. Cost and durability are the key ingredients for these homes, not particularly design. As such we are looking for simple, functional and durable windows and doors. Our construction flow is ramped up in three month intervals from 100 homes a month to 175 homes a month, 250 homes a month, and eventually to 350 homes a month, the maximum output.

We do not particularly need double pane windows. The temperature in the Puerto Plata area of the Dominican Republic remains pretty constant at approximately 80 degrees F.

We would be appreciative if you could submit a bid for the windows and/or the doors below DELIVERED to the port of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Although we are sure shipments of windows would be in thousands of units, please submit the delivered cost per window. A rendering and floor plan of the housing unit is available for reference.

WINDOW SCHEDULE PER HOUSE (approximate sizes)
4 - 3 ft X 5 ft, Single Hung Windows
2 - 2 ft X 3 ft Single Hung Windows

All windows must include screens. The approximate required number of windows is 2100 per month.

Substitutions to the windows above could be made if the window satisfies the basic functionality we need, and it is less expensive.

DOOR SCHEDULE PER HOUSE:
4 - 28 in wide, standard height interior doors, preferably vinyl or fiberglass. If wood, hollow core, painted and finished, ready to install. Door fixtures and door frames included.
2 - 36 in wide, standard height exterior doors, vinyl or fiberglass, ready to install, complete with door frames and door fixtures and locks.

Exterior doors must have screen doors. The approximate number of doors is also 2100 per month.
